Is it officially summer yet?

It is feeling like it on the beach although in a couple of weeks the school summer holidays will start here which is a bit of a pain but the weather is great.

There are a lot more groups in speedos on the beach here, the clubbies (surf life savers) are out and about training and stuff and there is a group of swimmers who are out most days, I should look at joining them and split up my pool swimming with some open ocean swimming.

Someone emailed me through this photo the other day, I know one of the guys is a rugby league player but I’m not sure if it is the NSW squad or a club team?  Any ideas?

There are often photos here on the news of our footballs teams in the pool on Monday doing a warm down all wearing speedos, or guys at the beach wearing speedos.  I wonder if you’d ever see an NFL team or even an overseas soccer team speedo’ing it up like that.

Has to be good for promoting guys wearing speedos when they see athletes wearing them.

Today is one of the great days of sport.

Bathurst is on from early this morning (for those not in the know Bathurst is a car race that lasts all day – 161 laps and it is over 2 minutes a lap).

Then there is a the rugby world cup quarter final between Australia and the South Africans.  This game is followed by the All Blacks playing their quarter final (I think it is Argentina).

I’m not a fan of wasting a day in front on the TV but…. it is a Super Sunday of Sport.

Can anyone name these Aussie athletes?  I’ll offer up a months free membership to SwimmerBoyz.com to anyone who can name them all in order.

I didn’t even know this TV show was on until someone sent me these pics…..

The TV Show is called ‘Greatest Athlete Season 2’ – I remember seeing a few episodes of the 1st season but after seeing these guys in their speedos I am hooked and won’t be missing an episode once I’m back.

One of the ‘athletes’ is openly gay Matthew Mitcham who won an Olympic Gold Medal for diving in Beijing in 2008.  The other ‘athlete’ that tickles my fancy is James O’Connor who is a rugby player (he is the blond guy on the left of the first photo). 

So if you guys had any doublts about Aussie guys getting down to their speedos….  here are some of our top male athletes in their speedos and on national TV.
