I was recently on a family trip to the Great Barrier Reef, it was my Dad’s 70th birthday and a whole bunch of the family made it up to celebrate the event.  The weather was a little rainy, and I didn’t get as much time on the beach as I had hoped, but hanging out with the family was great and my Dad had a blast.

During the four night trip I had my own suite and being single, I had hoped that maybe I’d be able to have a late night guest but there wasn’t anything like that on offer, until the last night.

Before I tell you about that last night, I need to mention that in the suite next to mine there was a young couple staying there.  Both around thirty years old and a little bit hippyish.  They were both slim, he had dirty blond hair that was a little long and she had long blonde hair.  I seemed to pass them in the hall way half a dozen times a day and we always said hello.

Sorry for that little interruption but that couple are kind of important to my experience.

Back to the last night.

After a big family dinner and a few drinks we all went back to our rooms.  I walked past the pool/spa and there was nobody in there so I decided to pour myself a G and T and go for a soak.

I love speedos, but during the day and hanging out with the family it was more appropriate to wear dork shorts, but a late night swim definitely called for my speedos.  I was wearing a pair of ADIDAS speedos with red stripes and if I do say so myself, they looked awesome.  Dropping my towel I felt my heart skip a beat as I felt nearly naked slipping in to the spa (jacuzzi for the American readers).

Five minutes in to my private little soak the blonde chick from the room next to mine showed up.  She apologized for interrupting my quiet time and asked if she could join me.  Yeah sure, I didn’t own the spa.

She was really cute and looked smashing in her little bikini with a g-string bottom.  We chatted a little, the usual where are you from kind of stuff.  I asked how long she and her boyfriend had been together.  That is when the night really kicked off.

Turns out, they weren’t a couple at all.  Just best friends.  The guy had booked the trip with his long time boyfriends and they had recently broken up so the chick came along instead.

The chick then just came out and asked me if I was gay.

My first response was, what gave her that idea?

She said that mots straight guy don’t wear speedos in public.  That is a bit of a shame that people think that but I’ll go along with it.  I told her that yes, I am gay.
