Usually winter here in Australia is just spectacular.  The water temp never gets below 20C, the sun comes out and I love it because it is quiet and having a beach all to myself is pretty special.  This is a picture of my beach, my house is about half way down there.

This winter has been a little different. We had an odd weather system pass through last week and it is supposed to be the same this weekend and in to next week…..

This is the same beach and just up from where I live.

My house is not as fancy as any of those pictured above.  The house I’ve rented for the last couple of years is an old concrete beach shack and isn’t quite overhanging the ocean yet but the landlord needs to do some work to make sure he doesn’t loose it all.

So, as of next Monday, I will be homeless.  Only temporary hopefully but landlord is going to do a bunch of work on the property and the entire beach is going to become a construction site so would be a good time to get out of dodge.

I haven’t made any concrete decision yet but I am thinking I might head north for some even nicer winter weather up in Queensland.  Maybe Sunshine Coast?  Anyone have a beach house they would like to loan me?

Ow, and before people start telling me about global warming.  Before WW2 there was no houses on that beach because people knew the dunes were washed away in bad weather but these days we build homes maybe where they shouldn’t be built.  Here is a photo from the 70’s when two homes were condemned.
