I’ve got a few new projects in the works which I’ve been keeping under wraps until this stuff is all finalised so hopefully I’ll be able to share some of them with you guys later this week.

I can’t make it to court today to defend myself against the ‘Speedo Corporation’….
Firstly, I’m not out to all my friends and some of my family.
Does anyone else think it sucks that an ‘in the closet’ guy can’t defend himself because if he does, he is forced to come ‘out’ to the entire world?
Secondly, I can’t afford representation. I’ve never employed the services of a lawyer, I’m not sure what they cost but I’m pretty sure it is more than I can afford. Apart from my business I don’t own anything, I do own a $1,000 car – perhaps I should have sold it and paid for representation?
Hopefully the judge will notice that my blog is ‘free’?
Thirdly, I believe I am right in my argument that ‘speedo’ is a generic term (google ‘speedo style’ and tell me what you find).
And finally, I haven’t stolen anything from the ‘Speedo Corporation’, if anything, I love their product and I have endorsed their brand for years.
I titled this post ‘Kangaroo Court’ because I don’t have a fair chance to represent myself or my argument. I’m not blaming anyone except my own circumstance.
I’m sure that the ‘Speedo Corporation’ (an Australian invention and icon now owned by an overseas conglomerate) are defending just another one of the brand names they’ve purchased over the years. I hope and trust there isn’t any anti-homosexual/bisexual bias in thier decision to ‘sue’ me. I also believe that the judge who will hear this case later today will be fair and the law will prevail regardless of the Speedo Corporations unlimited resources and my lack of opportunity to present my side.
I have been bowled over by the support I have received over the last week – thanks guys and keep your fingers crossed for me.
Last night was a hoot at the local pub and some friends of mine who were up from Sydney. Nothing naughty to report but it was a good night.
This morning I was lying in bed thinking I’d have a lazy day and go for a nice long walk on the beach this afternoon…. then when I got out of bed it is absolutely miserable outside. Looks like a day sitting around the house for me.

Here is an idea, if the ‘Speedo Corporation’ steals a couple of domains names off me what should I rename this blog as? I wonder if www.DavesSpeedometer.com would be OK?
As you guys know I’m a private person and all the press associated with this suing is something I would be happy to live without, but it has been phenominal how many new readers are here and new members on my site SwimmerBoyz.com.

Have any of you guys bought a ‘Caussie’ speedo?
Someone from their company has been posting on the SwimmerSexuality.com forum with some great information about nylon speedos. Sounds like they go to a lot of effort to get the perfect material.
I’ll write a swimwear review later next week when they arrive.
As a side note guys – I don’t get any kick back from my speedo reviews. I even have to buy them myself.

Seems like we are all on the same page in that my use of ‘speedo’ is as a generic form but I have no idea how the legal stuff works. And, I can’t blame the Speedo Corporation or their lawyers for doing what they think is right – even if we think they are wrong.
Anyways, it is far too nice a day to be worried about these sort of things. It is a beautiful day and you could just about water ski off the beach here. Time for a walk and a swim – not sure I’ll be wearing white ‘swimwear’ but will be wearing my AussieBum Portseas so say g’day if you are walking along the beach.
A wee while back I posted here about me being ‘sued’ by the Evil Speedo Corporation.
I’ve been told that AussieSpeedoGuy is a terrible infraction on the ‘Speedo’ brand – and thus I am being sued.
My argument is that the term ‘speedo’ is generic. Speedo Sex for example – most of my speedo sex stories involve AussieBum or ADIDAS clothing. I’m pretty sure ‘speedo’ is now a culturally generic term. What do you guys think?
Some other generic terms that I have found that you might be using…. I hope you don’t get sued.

Dry Ice – that is a trademark as well
Escalator – one of my favourite Queenstown snowboarding runs is in violation of trademark
Zipper – was a trademark of an old tyre company

Kool-Aid – we know it more for Jim Jones…

Anyways – today I got an email telling me I’m due in court next Monday in the Federal Court of Australia. Quite an invitation. I’ve been to the High Court in Canberra a few times but not to the Federal Court.
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend.
I figure it on a couple of grounds…. Firstly, I can’t afford a ‘corporate lawyer’ to argue abstract things like this. Secondly, I can’t afford a ‘corporate lawyer’ to argue abstract things like this. Thirdly, I don’t have any money or property or anything else apart from a beat up old car for them to take even if they win and finally…. I have a nice suit but I don’t own a tie, and I’d feel underdressed if I went before a Federal Court Judge without a tie.
Anyways – today some paperwork was done to finalize the date of my ‘suing’ (which is next Monday). Somehow this must have spiked some news because I’ve had 2 emails from reporters asking for interviews.
I’ve had some interviews with fellow bloggers and guys I work with online but not a mainstream reporter. I think I should tell them ‘no comment’. What do you guys think?

The ‘Evil Speedo Corporation’ is still trying to sue me. As you guys know I am rather discrete so it should be interesting to see who exactly they are suing will it be “Aussie Speedo Guy”, the infamous “Dave ‘Speedo’ Evans”, “Dave Evans”, “David S. Evans” or “Mr. SpeedosNextDoor.com”.
Perhaps the ‘Evil Speedo Corporation’ should listen to this song and we could all share some Speedo Love….
