This morning I went for a bit of an explore here on Queensland’s Gold Coast this morning and I am impressed with the number of guys I saw speedo’ing it up.

I walked down to the Southport Surf Club for a walk along the beach and I was greeted by this gorgeous early 20’s guy in a maroon speedo showering after he had been for a swim.  My walk along the beach to where the weekend car race was (do they still race Indy Cars or is it just V8’s these days?).  There wasn’t too many people swimming but the ones I did were older guys, all wearing speedos!!!

The surf was pretty crap (on shore wind) but I stripped down to my red speedos for a dip and then rinsed off in the shower that the gorgeous guy did.  There were a few people around but nobody cared.

Getting back to the unit I thought I should get some laps in, there is a new and impressive swimming complex on the broadwater so I grabbed one of the old mountain bikes in the garage.  Before I got to the pool I saw an enclosed swimming area which I had completely forgotten about.  That sounded much better than swimming at the pool so I stopped there.

I swam for half an hour or so which was fantastic and there is a bit of a floating deck in the middle so I sat up on there and in the 10 minutes I was sitting there (in my red speedo of course) I saw two hot guys (not together) rock up and strip down to speedos (one was wearing what looked like surf club speedos).

It really was awesome to see so many guys wearing speedos – well done and congratulations Queensland!!!

I know I’ve been posting a bunch of pics of surf club guys but I think you can sympathize with me since I’ve been hanging out with 2 clubbies from the Southern NSW Coast.

These are the pics that I haven’t been able to post and I promise these will be the last pics of surf club guys for a little while.

In my fivesome last week I met 2 Aussie guys.  Here is how I described them in the full story:

• The two Aussie guys are both 22yo from Wollongong (which is on the coast south of Sydney).  The guys are boyfriends who just finished uni/college and are taking a year off to travel before joining the rat race.  Both guys are still clubbies, members of a surf life saving club which explains their speedo tans.  They are working in a ski rental shop in town.  Kip met them on Grindr just after they arrived in Breckenridge back in November and they have been having some hottub/speedo fun with each other since then.

Growing up I was a member of a surf life saving club and wearing speedos was just commonplace, I don’t think anyone wore boardies.  The two Aussie’s are comfortable wearing their speedos as well and I’m going to try and convince them to come to the local pool here in Breckenridge and have the three of us speedo it up.  I’d love to see if we get any reaction since I have never seen anyone wearing speedos at that pool.

Tonight the Aussie’s are coming over for a hottub after dinner….. can you guess what is going to happen?

A little hung over today after going to the pub last night, but not too bad.

Went for a surf this morning which cleared my head.  It is crazy how quiet the beach is this time of year.  In summer there is so many people about with life guards, the surf club folks training and having comps.  The surf club people are referred to as clubbies and it is funny how they don’t like the surfers and the surfers don’t like them.  All my local buddies are surfers and weren’t clubbies but I was a clubby growing up.

I found these pics below somewhere and thought I’d post them up for you guys.  The surf club involved is out in WA (Western Austalia) and looks like the usual shenanigans at a surf club.

I think I’m off for a nap and then I’m heading over to some mates for a BBQ.

There might be lots of speedos at the pool but I’m still the only speedo on the beach here.

I think I was down by the surf club (Life Saving Club – has nothing to do with ‘surfing’) and saw some people training and a few of them had speedos but so far that is the only speedos I’ve seen on the beach other than mine.

If anyone is up in Terrigal this weekend, speedo it up on the beach and I’ll say g’day, you should be able to recognize me.

Speaking of which, time for a quick dip and then get ready for tonight.  Some of the boys coming over to watch some football (NRL) and then we’ll probably hit the pub and Kebabs for a late dinner/walk along the beach home.  Ow yeah, the entire purpose of this is to get laid somehow by someone……

You might be surprised to know that I’m a horrible surfer.

I love it, but I’m horrible and whenever I’m travelling internationally people ask me about surfing and I have to admit how terrible I am at it.

Growing up we just never surfed, spent a lot of time at the beach but normally with the Life Saving Club (often called the Surf Club but has nothing to do with surfing).  My buddies here on the Central Coast grew up surfing and they are all awesome and the love taking the mickey out of me.

Saying that, I’m comfortable in the ocean and get in trouble because I have gone out on more than one occasion where the surf was too big for my surfing skills but I didn’t think too much of it.  So yesterday morning I went for an early surf with some of the boys.  After a few hours of surfing I just wanted to ditch the board so I dumped it on the beach and just swam out to where they were.

I was wearing my wet suit when surfing but I was nice and warm by the time I went for a swim so I pulled off my wet suit and just went in my black speedos.  Nobody cared and I was just hanging out the boys out the back and we saw a shark!!!!

They boys told me it was only a Thresher Shark and that they see them all the time.

That was still enough for me being out in deep water wearing nothing but a pair of black arena speedos.

I made it back to shore no probs but I might stick to my end of the beach – hahaha.
