For years I’ve run the SpeedoForum.org.

Forums are an old internet thing (like blogging I suppose) and they can be hit and miss.  They need to be moderated a little bit so that conversation doesn’t spiral out of control or people get nasty on them.  And the forum needs a critical mass of contributors otherwise it gets stale.

Somehow, the SpeedoForum.org has been able to keep both of those things in order over the years.  It is a great place to go and talk speedos and ask any speedo related questions.  The group of guys in there are great.

Often if I’m looking to find out what a speedo is or speedo shopping questions I swing over and ask in there.

What do you guys think of the Budgy Smuggler brand of speedos?  From what I’ve seen, particularly here on the Sunshine Coast, they are doing great things for our speedo culture.

This morning I went for a quick morning swim, there was a guy walking out of the water just as I was walking in.  He was maybe late 30’s, fit looking and I’ve seen him before, he was wearing a very colourful pair of Budgy Smugglers.  Then as I left the water, a guy was walking in and he was wearing a pair of Budgy Smugglers like the guy in the middle of the picture below.  Guy was maybe mid 20’s.

I have only ever had one pair of Budgy Smugglers and it was years ago. I liked that they were lycra and the fit was good, I like all their designs which are fun and I think are helping guys wear speedos in public more.  They are just $50 up to $80….. that is an expensive pair of speedo don’t you think?

I’ve got some expenses this month but maybe next month I’ll splash out and buy a pair.  Would love to hear what you guys think about them.

It has been a little while since I ordered some new speedos…. trying to think the last new pair I got and it was probably the pair that Paul the Politician gave me (click here to read about that).

The pool her is open again for swimming although the new rules sounds like a pain in the butt I should get back swimming. I’ve been running so feeling OK fitness wise but from swimming four times a week to zero over night has been a bit of a bummer.

I was trying to think of what speedos to buy that would be pool appropriate (white AussieBum Coolabah’s do not fit that role (click here to see what those speedos look like). I don’t particularly like paying US$50 for a pair of speedo either.  Over a few days I shopped on the AussieBum website but their lycra speedos have never quite worked for me and the nylon ones are a little loose when swimming in them a lot, and I find they fade pretty quick.

Then I remembered the people from Q Swimwear had emailed me a while back asking me to try their speedos.

They didn’t offer me a free pair of anything unfortunately, but they were having a 50% off sale so it came out pretty affordable.

I ordered a plain black pair and these which I have had some naughty thoughts about already…..

Now the wait begins though… I ordered them two weeks ago (they hand make each pair so they take two weeks before they leave their store) and they are based in San Diego so I have no idea what the post time is for packages from San Diego to Sydney these days.  Maybe Xmas?  I ordered a new phone from China two months ago and last I checked it is in Singapore….

Anyone else buy some new speedos lately?

It has been a while since I bought any AussieBum’s.

I’ve never been a devoted fan of AussieBum’s for a couple of reasons… firstly, their fit is just a little bit off for me. Not sure what it is; sometimes the butt on them seems to small, then sometimes they are too tight in the front and being nylon (instead of lycra) they aren’t stretchy so if they don’t fit perfect, they don’t fit.

Saying that, one of my favourite speedos of all time are the AussieBum Portsea’s which I was wearing during my first threesome and have had many more experiences in them since (it was that threesome that caused me to start this blog and you can read it here).

But, I have been looking for a Maroon speedo and last time AussieBum had a sale I bought a single pair of their classic nylon speedos.  They are a little bit tight, not sure if their sizing is getting smaller or if this lockdown stuff is making me fatter but I’m going to get them out this week on Wednesday and I will add some pics to my selfie collection.  Check back on Thursday and I’ll share some with you guys.

I saw this speedo selfie today somewhere online and it looked like the Helly Hansen logo…. when did they start making speedos?

My snowboarding pants are Helly Hansen and this tiny Helly Hansen speedos would be a perfect match under my snowboarding pants don’t you think?

Earlier in the week I posted a collection of my speedo selfies (click here to see those pics).  But here are some guys who look even better wearing the classic ADIDAS 3-Stripe speedo.
