Fathers Day here in Australia (not sure why we do it on a different day compared to North America) and my new beach down here has been a zoo since Friday afternoon with people from the city flooding in the weekend.

This morning I woke up early, went for a walk/coffee along the beach and went for a swim.

It was about 8:30am and the beach was already getting busy with families and the weather was great (supposed to get some thunder storms later today).  I put down my coffee mug, stripped down to my new speedos and got in the water.  I swam out a little bit and turned around to look at the lock which is on the Surf Life Saving Club building to see the time.  I didn’t notice the time, but I did notice a young guy, right around 30yo I’m guessing, just getting to the waters edge wearing a white speedo!!!

What confidence!!!

I couldn’t believe it, it was awesome.

But it got better…. a few minutes later I turned around and look back towards shore again and the guy was leaving the water.  I hadn’t noticed it from the front but he wasn’t wearing a white speedo, he was wearing a white thong (g-string, mankini, whatever you want to call it)!!!

I have never ever seen that at the beach in the flesh.  And on a Sunday morning when there were a fair few people about.  Nobody cared, and the guy strutted up the beach, no big deal.

My first memorial day weekend was great, the sun was out and on Monday Kip and I both got sunburnt sitting out at the Tiki Bar in Frisco.  Rum Runners are now my official drink.  The sunshine didn’t last though and it has been snowing on and off all day and it is really dumping right now.

I’m sure it won’t last and will be sunny tomorrow.

I can’t believe how burnt I got, just on my legs and arms – maybe there is a possibility of getting a speedo tan this summer….

Here are some pics of some real men wearing speedos.  Tonight BiBoarders (read about what he and I got up to a couple of posts ago) is coming over to play with Kip and I…. should be pretty hot as you can expect.

Right now I have to admit that my favourite speedos are my red Andrew Christian’s.

The ones I have are with the white cross on the very front.  However, the white cross is wearing off and they don’t look so good anymore so I can’t wear them to the pool.

Mine used to look like these ones in the photo below – I’m nowhere near as huge as this guy though.

However, I love these black ones that this guy is wearing.  Doesn’t anyone know where I can find them?

Andrew Christian doesn’t sell these on their website – kinda like AussieBum they have gone super retro and there is nothing on their site that I could buy that I could wear at the pool doing laps.

I’ve seen pics of Zero Swimwear popping up over the last year or more.  I’ve never seen or owned a pair but was just wondering if anyone here has a pair?

I’m going to buy some new speedos in the next couple of days so I’m doing a bit of research.

Kip has been flat out this week and hasn’t had a chance to reinstall phpBB (the forum software) for me yet. Hopefully the forum will be back at some stage this weekend.

If anyone out there has any experience customizing phpBB please let me know. Being a free site I can’t dedicate too much time to it and would like a proper layout/design for it.

A friend of mines wife here in town I think is setting me up on a date (with a girl) so I’ll keep you guys posted on what happens there – I should find out tonight what the deal is.

Since we were talking about square cuts the other day – how hot is this guy in his squarecuts?

To me there seems to be a trend from guys wearing speedos to guys wearing a squarecut style speedo – do you guys feel that as well?

The question I was pondering today as I saw these two ‘group speedo photos’ was weather or not square cuts are more ‘acceptable’ than briefs.

I suppose in Australia it is either boardies or speedos – I can’t even remember seeing a pair of squarecuts.  However, when I was in Mexico a few years back there were young guys wearing squarecuts.

The only pair of squarecut swimwear I’ve ever owned are my black ones which I’m wearing right now – I like to immerse myself when I’m writing on my blog.
